Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd., has completed four major projects during the first quarter of this year with a total outlay of Rs 3100 crore, including an infra project in Tanzania and the major lift irrigation project of Pattiseema that links Godavari and Krishna rivers and a project under Mission Bhageeratha.

Of the four projects, two were inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the third one he visited in Tanzania.

B Srinivas Reddy, Director of MEIL, in a statement said all these projects—Sauni Yojana in Gujarat, a project in Tanzania, Mission Bhagiratha (Gajwel water grid) for Telangana, and Pattisam lift irrigation scheme for Andhra Pradesh, were completed within the stipulated time.

On August 30, the Prime Minister dedicated the Rs 515 crore Sauni Yojana Project in Gujarat to the nation. It was completed before the stipulated date on August 27. Of the total of 10 pumps, 2 pumps are intended for emergency purpose.

This project will irrigate 20000 acres of farmlands in the districts of Rajkot, Jamnagar and Morbi districts of Gujarat. The lifted water will be sent to the farmlands by storing water in 10 dams built across the canal.

TANZANIA

The company completed a drinking water project which involved construction of Upper Ruvu-Kimara Water Transmission and Kidamba Reservoir) in Tanzania, Africa. As a part of a diplomatic visit, The PM visited the project site on July 8.

MEIL completed the Pattisam project in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh and Gajwel water grid project in Telangana before the stipulated completion dates.

The Rs 548 crore Gajwel water grid was started by the Prime Minister whose purpose is to supply drinking water to 67000 households by way of pipelines laid for a length of 1200 km.

The Pattisam lift irrigation project is the largest lift irrigation project completed in Asia. During the construction phase, the first pump was started on an experimental basis and water was pumped into Polavaram right canal.
