The Maharashtra Cabinet on Tuesday cleared the proposal for two metro corridors for Mumbai. The corridors, costing ₹12,618 crore, would be built by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). They are scheduled to be completed by 2019. The first corridor of 18 km is a part of the Dahisar-Charkop-Bandra-Mankhurd Mumbai Metro-2 link and it will connect suburb of Dahisar (east) with D N Nagar in Andheri (west). The second corridor of 16 km will provide connectivity between Andheri (east) and Dahisar (east) and it is a part of the Mumbai Metro-7 link.
