Renewable energy firm Shri Shakti Alternative Energy Ltd (SSAEL) will get an Indo-US grant to scale up its remote monitoring of solar pumps.
It is one of the winners of the PACEsetter Fund’s first round of funding. PACEsetter or Programme for Advancement of Clean Energy is a joint initiative of the Indian government and the US Department. It is managed by the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum. The Hyderabad-based company intends to scale up the program launched by the Rajasthan Horticulture Department which involves creation of water harvesting structures, recharging ground water, pumping with solar pumps and irrigating through drip. SSAEL is offering an innovative cloud-based platform that tracks the performance of solar pumps and remote solar PV plants through data loggers and GSM-SMS technology, said PV Satya Kumar, Managing Director.

The award envisages setting up pilot demonstration projects in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh for 400 solar pumps and 100 solar PV plants on a single platform that tracks both solar pumps and off-grid power plants, he told BusinessLine . Incubated by IFC, Washington, SSAEL has developed a 100-MW solar park under an MoU with the Rajasthan government.
