Samsung, the leading mobile phone company has consolidated its leadership in Kerala, capturing over 40 per cent of market share.
The success of J series smart phones has helped the company to achieve the leadership position in the market, Raju Pullan, Vice President, Mobile Business, Samsung India said, adding that every third phone sold in Kerala in the mid and mass segment is Samsung J series.
Galaxy J series has also emerged as India's most popular smart phone series, accounting for one in four smart phones sold in the country. The features in the phone such as social camera, out of the box Android Nougat and Samsung Pay/Samsung Pay Mini have increased the appeal of Galaxy J, he said.
“We are growing in double digits nationally and last year, the company had posted record sales. This year we will break last years sales record”, he told reporters on the sidelines of the launch of Twin Win Onam offer in Kerala here on Thursday.
During Onam festival season, he said the industry normally grows at 12-15 per cent. “We will post a healthy double digit growth and beat the industry growth rate”, he said adding that one out of every 4 smart phone sold in India is a Samsung J series phone.
