Known for doling out Diwali bonanza in the form of cars, flats and jewellery to their employees, diamantaires from Surat are back with their unique Diwali gifting to the employees.

What is set to bring a different flavour this Diwali for 1200 employees of Shree Ram Krishna Exports in Surat is the all-expenses-paid family tour to Haridwar. The promoters, Dholakias would join the employees in the 12-day journey, which starts from October 28 and ends on November 9, in a specially hired fully-AC train from Surat.

Ishwar Dholakia from Shree Ram Krishna Exports - known as SRK Group, stated that a holy tour starting from 'Dhanteras' or October 28 will bring a unique satisfaction for the employees and add a different flavour to Diwali celebrations. For the diamond industry in Surat Diwali vacation starts around a few days before Diwali and extends up to three weeks.

"The tour will not just be a religious tour, but it will cover all nearby tourist places around Haridwar and will be full of fun, entertainment and adventure for families of the employees. We have already booked 150-200 boats for river rafting in Rishikesh. The entire trip is all-expenses-paid for the employees," said Dholakia adding that the purpose is to connect the employees with the divine place.

According to insiders, the company will spend in the range of ₹ 15,000-20,000 for each participant of the tour, thereby costing the company around ₹ 2-2.5 crore.

"There will something for everyone on the tour. Elderly will get religious flavour, young will get adventures, children will have fun visiting places. There will also be activities like Swachchata Abhiyan on Ganga Ghats besides blood donation among others," added Dholakia, who employs about 7000 workers at SRK Group.

Dholakia is one of the promoters of Diamond Aeronautics - Gujarat's first intra-state flight operator from Surat.

Another leading diamond player - Dharmanandan Diamonds plans to cover all of his 5000 employees under life insurance with cover ranging between ₹4 lakh to ₹10 lakh. The company would pay one-time premium of about ₹ 50 lakh for the purpose.
