Several Swiss companies have evinced interest in setting up manufacturing units in Andhra Pradesh during Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Switzerland on the way to take part in the World Economic Forum meet at Davos. Flisom has evinced interest in setting up a solar panel manufacturing plant with an investment of $200 million. The company manufactures flexible solar modules.

Gherzi Textile, in operation in India for the last three decades operating textile units in Andhra Pradesh, has indicated that the focus would be on value addition in the textile industry.

During meeting with industrialists in Zurich, a delegation from leading solar panel manufacturing company, Meyer Burger evinced interest in starting an export driven project and they were considering Vizag and Rajahmundry as suitable locations. The Chief Minister offered the delegation real-time assistance to set up plants.

A delegation from the BhmPartners Group expressed interest to be part of AP development in the areas of biotechnology, biomedical science, diagnostics and medical sciences.

A number of other companies had separate meetings with the Chief Minister. These include Nuesch Development, Keller, BKW Engineering, Verde International AG, Leclanché and Indani Global.

A delegation from Ethical Coffee Company, which met Naidu, was asked to explore organic coffee plantations at Araku.
