The TCS World 10K, a fundraising marathon for charity, has pledged over ₹4 crore to more than 100 civil society organisations and NGOs.
With 37 corporates fielding 54 teams and 200-plus fundraisers taking part in the marathon, over 75 per cent of the contributions this year came from individuals raising funds through their personal networks.
Murray Culshaw, Chairperson, India Cares Foundation, said, “The TCS World 10K provides a transparent and accountable platform for for citizens to engage with solutions, by running and donating to a cause of their choice.”
Dilip Jayaram, CEO, Procam International, added, “Procam is glad to have such a strong philanthropy partner in India Cares.”
This year's youngest fundraiser, 10-year-old Aum Desai is joined by his grandmother Pramila Desai, who at 76 is the oldest fundraiser. They are raising funds for Shrimad, an NGO for children’s education.
