Telangana will soon enact a new law on land acquisition during the winter session of the State legislature scheduled to commence from December 16.
The State government will also promote TS Wallet to promote cashless transactions.
Decisions to this effect were taken by the government in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao held here on Saturday.
The proposed law on land acquisition will be within the purview of the Land Acquisition Act 2013, enacted by the Parliament to replace the controversial Government Order 123 and subsequent orders incorporating the directions of the High Court. The aim of the new act is to hasten the land acquisition/procurement for irrigation, industrial and other development projects.
It was also decided to provide Point of Sales (PoS) machines to the conductors of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) to implement cashless transactions.
