The Government of Andhra Pradesh and Thomson Reuters together launched two major IT projects here on Monday.

The announcement was made at the inauguration of the two-day conference on Blockchain technology which began here on Monday and papers were exchanged between the representatives of the State government and the company in the presence of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The first project is the setting up of an innovation app studio in Gitam University here. It will be open to students, academics, researchers, and start-ups. The second project, Digital Content Exchange, under e-pragati scheme offers content powered by Thomson Reuters e-book software, Proview, and legal research solution, WestLaw.

Expressing happiness at partnering with the AP government, Pradeep Lankapalli, Managing Director of Thomson Reuters (South Asia), said it would greatly help in realising the dream of building up a world-class ecosystem for Fintech in Visakhapatnam and for improving governance in the State. It will stimulate research and be of great help to start-ups and students, he added.

He commended the efforts of the State government in promoting Blockchain technology, which no doubt would make a great impact in future, though it was still in a nascent stage.
