The Telangana Real Estate Developers Association (Treda) is set to host its 8th edition of ‘Property Show 2017’ on October 27–29 at Hitex here amidst challenging times.

The sector, which has been facing rough weather in the past few years, has begun to consolidate and the business environment has begun to give a semblance of stability.

However, sector players see headwinds since the announcement of demonetisation, the move to implement RERA and the implementation of GST, which they see to be inflationary. The members of Treda believe that RERA and GST may lead to prices going up by about ₹400 to ₹450 per sq ft due to these regulatory changes.

P Ravinder Rao, President, Treda said, “Telangana being the youngest and emerging State is moving towards fast-paced development attracting investments from across the globe. The show will host a number of new projects and provide a common platform.” Describing the Hyderabad market as more affordable than other metros and major cities, the members of the Treda mentioned that this may not last far too long as prices may see correction.

With Hyderabad continuing to be attractive for commercial space , adding about 5 million sq ft a year, the developer community said they expect this to have a positive impact on residential segment as well.

Over 93 real estate companies, 12 banks and financial institutions and 12 suppliers would be displaying their range of properties/offerings during the show.

The real estate players said that while the input costs continue to spiral up and labour costs going up significantly, the developers have not been able to pass on the costs due to tough market conditions. But this may not last long as prices are set to firm up, they said.
