Taxi aggregrator service Uber will expand the cash payment option to riders in Kolkata.
What this means is that those taking a ride in an Uber cab here in the city will have the option of paying in cash. This apart, riders can make payments through other regular options like digital wallets and plastic money.
According to a release issued by Uber, riders need to choose the cash payment option, take a ride and pay their driver directly in cash at the end of the trip.
The cash payment option will be rolled out gradually over the next few weeks. “If you do not see the cash option immediately, worry not. We will be rolling out this option slowly over the next few weeks to all our riders,” Uber said in a mail to its riders (i.e. those who have a Uber account).
The cash payment facility has already been rolled out in select markets across the country.
