It is the strength of the country that unity of vision has led all political parties to join hands on GSTand Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his address in Mann Ki Baat on Sunday.

Any life lost in Kashmir, be that of a youth or a security personnel, was a loss for the entire nation, the PM said.

“People who are putting innocent young boys forward to disrupt peace in Kashmir, they will have to answer to these boys one day,” he said.

The PM also said External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will lead a delegation for Mother Teresa’s canonisation as a saint September 4.

“Her (Mother Teresa’s) life was dedicated to work for the poor. I pay my tributes to her,” he said in the 23rd edition of his monthly radio programme that is aired on the All India Radio.

The PM appealed to the people to make short documentaries on 'Clean India'. The best entry will be awarded on Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary on October 2.

He also hailed Olympian Dipa Karmakar, saying it was commendable she almost won the bronze medal.

"I have set up a committee. The committee will study the best practices and prepare a roadmap for 2020, 2024 & 2028 Olympics. I appeal to the State Governments to also look into it and suggest what best they can do to promote one or two sports," Modi said.

He also appealed to sports associations to go into a brainstorming independently.

Meanwhile, as many cities in the country reel under floods, Modi assured listeners that the collective efforts of the people, State and Centre have tried to do their level best to tackle the situation.
