Want to gift specially composed songs to your dear ones? Or, perhaps, convert a memorable family selfie into an oil painting? All you need to do now is visit the new kid on the e-commerce block— buttistore.com.

Shreemukha, the 21-year-old founder and chief executive officer of Buttistore, told BusinessLine that his venture is an online market store for customised arts and music.

His start-up, which is yet to be registered as a company, includes musicians, artists, programmers and designers as its team members.

Shreemukha, who completed BCA in 2014, said many of his friends are artists, singers and composers. His start-up, he said, will give them a bigger canvas or stage to become recognised. It will also provide a steady income to them.

How it works

In the case of songs, Buttistore takes the initiative to write the song, compose it, record it in a studio, and deliver it to the person concerned.

The person who submits the order will have to upload a description about the person or a subject he/she wants the song on.

At present, the customised songs are offered in Kannada, English and Hindi. The customer can mention the theme of his/her choice for the song. Buttistore charges customers ₹3,499 for a three-minute song, while a five-minute one costs about ₹5,999. If the client is not satisfied with the music or the song, he or she can pay a little extra and get another version composed. If the customer is not satisfied even with the new tune, then a full refund will be given.

In the case of paintings and sketches, artists at Buttistore draw or paint based on the orders. Once the order is placed, the song or painting or sketch will be delivered in 10-15 days, Shreemukha said.

Prices for the orders range from ₹999 to ₹5,999.

Next target

Stating that the platform is in its beta now, Shreemukha said his start-up wants to mobilise at least 50 orders a day, including music, paintings and sketches, when it is fully operational. “Once we get investors, the next target is to contact artists and singers from different States,” he said.

Shreemukha — whose start-up is located in Sullia town of Dakshina Kannada district — said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ call was partly the inspiration for his venture. “Ours is a unique effort in this regard,” he said.
