Interested in acting and looking for the first break as an actor? But not sure if handing over your resume to an agent is such a good option. Well, there is an alternative now.

Just upload it online at www.infaparambrata.com. Get noticed by actor-director Parambrata Chattopadhyay. And, then may be your acting dream might take shape.

In a first of its kind, Norwegian multinational business platform, RelTime on Friday launched its portal – iNFA or In Film Affiliates – aimed at recruiting aspirants for performing arts, mostly targeting the Bengal film industry (also called Tollywood).

It’s not just budding actors who “iNFA” is looking at. Other categories like script-writers, cinematographers, directors, executive producers can also apply online through iNFA.

Actor-director Parambrata Chattopadhyay has been roped in as the mentor for the project.

iNFA, however, is not a training institute. It just acts as a “professional platform” for the talent to “get noticed”, according to Udoay Ghosh, Managing Director, RelTime.

“Aspirants – actors, singers, directors and so on – can upload a total of six videos along with their resumes on the website. The uploads are done at a cost varying between € 50 (` 3500 apprx) and € 500 (` 35,000 apprx) depending on the category he/she chooses,” he told Business Line.

Hopefuls can be auditioned; either online through video conferencing, or off-line.

According to Ghosh, Parambrata might include the person of his liking to feature in an upcoming film of his own; or he might refer him / her amongst the film-making fraternity.

This apart, 90 per cent of the aspirants, who do not get a break, will be a part of an in-house film to be made a year later.

Other Regional Films

Plans are also afoot to now enter into other regional film-making industries that include Bollywood and those in the south – Telegu, Tamil and Malayali, Ghosh maintained.

The model followed will be the same. This means tying-up with a mentor (for each film industry) who will screen the aspirants.

So far, similar talent recruitment services have been provided (by RelTime) to Vengsarkar Cricket Academy and some of the IIMs and IITs, for their executive programmes.
