Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid tributes to ITBP personnel on the raising day of the force and saluted them for their bravery.
“On the raising day of ITBP, I salute our brave ITBP personnel. We are proud of their valour, determination and service to the nation,” the Prime Minister said.
Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) force was raised on October 24, 1962 and is currently deployed on the border guarding duties from Karakoram Pass in Ladakh to Jachep La in Arunachal Pradesh, covering 3,488 km of India-China border.
Being a specialised mountain force, ITBP has also been carrying out numerous rescue and relief operations.
