Making the plunge into new media, DMK chief M Karunanidhi will now be active on micro-blogging site Twitter and Facebook, while an exclusive webpage dedicated to the 88 year-old veteran is also in the offing, the party said today.

“New pages have been created in the name of party chief Kalaignar (Karunanidhi, as he is addressed) on Twitter and Facebook which are sought after by the younger generation.

Thalaivar’s (leader’s) statements, poems, addresses and interviews will be uploaded there,” an official release from the DMK headquarters here said.

Karunanidhi will be active on the addresses www.twitter.com\kalaignar 89 with a similar address on Facebook also, the release added.

While the DMK already has an official webpage, the party patriarch will soon have one exclusively. Titled www.kalaignarkarunanidhi.com, it would be launched by the leader himself on August 17, the birth anniversary of former DMK stalwart, the late Murasoli Maran, it said.
