Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad took over as the new Minister for Law and Justice here on Wednesday.

Prasad, who had Law Ministry with him when the Modi government started its stint two years ago, has returned to the Ministry after Sadananda Gowda was shifted to the Ministry of Statistics after the Cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday.

He will continue to hold the charge of Electronics and Information Technology, while was relieved of the Telecom Ministry.

Speaking to reporters soon after assuming the office he said timely justice delivery and transparency is one of the main priority of the Centre.

He added that the Centre will strive for the objective that well qualified and most eligible persons join the judicial system.
