Connecting Histories, a two-day convention on architecture will be held in the city from March 3.
The conference in partnership with Credai Bengal and Indian Institute of Architects is the first-of-its-kind in India that will be attended by more than 400 delegates, architects traveling from Assam, Maharashtra, Odisha, Bangladesh along with students participating in the convention from various parts of India.
Other notable dignitaries include British Politician-cum-Architect George Ferguson from Bristol, Sugato Basu from Kolkata, Joy Sen from IIT Kharagpur, Palinda Kannangara from Sri Lanka, Alejandro Echeverri from Colombia, Juergen Mayer from Germany, Pratap Talwar from Boston, Madhav Joshi from Maharashtra, and Leila Araghian from Iran, among others.
The convention will have four sub-themes; Heritage, Design Dialect, Housing in City and Grand Moves in Architecture and it seeks to be a convergence of ideas on affordable living, experiential living, shared living, styles and types of living, efficiency in living drawing upon and connecting our histories, the organizers said in a press release.
