The first season of India’s first celebrity badminton league (CBL) will kick off in the city from September 18 with celebrities from all the four South Indian film industries participating in the event .
Leading actors Jayaram (Malayalam), Arya (Tamil), Diganth (Kannada) and Sudheer Babu (Telugu) will be representing their respective film industries . Nearly 80 per cent of celebrities play the sport, said L Hemachandran, Founder and CEO, CBL Pvt Ltd.
The start-up company had already attracted investment of ₹3.30 crore from JP Academy Pvt Ltd for a 33 per cent stake, he told newspersons.
