Chettinad Apparels of Chennai-based Chettinad Group has unveiled the identity of its cricket team ‘Karaikudi Kaalai’ in Tamil Nadu Premier League 2016, a State-level T-20 cricket tournament being conducted by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association.
The team’s logo, jersey and anthem was unveiled by team’s owner Rajamani Muthuganesan. The team will be led by S Badrinath and coached by former Indian cricketer Robin Singh, says a company press release.
The team’s name was inspired by the raging bulls of ‘Jallikattu’ sport. Donning Kaalai , the logo was curated to represent the spirit of the players. The raging bull in the logo coupled with eccentric colours pillar the tag line of the team, “ Modhi Paakalama .” the release said.
