Kolkata-based FMCG major, Emami Ltd, will be one of the sponsors of the Patna team of the Pro-Kabaddi League. Emami’s association with “Patna Pirates” will be through its cooling oil brand, “Navratna”.

According to Harsha V Agarwal, Director, Emami Ltd, with Bihar is a core market for Navratna brand and kabaddi being a popular game in the hinterland, an association with Patna Pirates is a good opportunity for the brand to “connect with its audience”.

“Kabaddi is a high body contact game that results in stress, fatigue and physical pain. And Navratna is the ideal brand, providing relief from physical pain and mental stress”, Agarwal added.

Navratna is the market leader in cooling oil segment that is valued at over Rs 830 crore. It has a market share of 58 per cent; with a compounded annual revenue growth of 12.3 per cent in the last five years.
