Manchester United in association with logistics provider, DHL, delivered the Barclays Premier League trophy to New Delhi on January 17, 2014 and Mumbai on January 19, 2014 as part of a worldwide tour.
To celebrate the Club's historic 20th league title, Manchester United has teamed up with its official logistics partner DHL, to launch the United Trophy Tour. DHL is transporting the Premier League trophy to 31 destinations in 25 countries across the globe over the coming months.
The tour would also see DHL transport Manchester United artefacts directly from the Old Trafford Museum to give fans the chance to experience special moments in the Club's history.
R S Subramanian, Senior Vice-President and Managing Director of DHL Express India said, “DHL shares the commitment that Manchester United displays year after year on the football pitch”.
Group Managing Director for Manchester United, Richard Arnold added, “The 20th league title was a huge milestone in the history of the Club and the United Trophy Tour presented an opportunity to celebrate the achievement on a global scale. Manchester United has 659 million followers across the world, of which Asia alone has 190 million fans, and the tour provides a unique opportunity for many of these fans to directly engage with the Club in an exciting new format”.
Tour activities in New Delhi and Mumbai included a customer engagement event, and displays of Manchester United memorabilia.
