Pakur/Deogarh (Jharkhand), Feb. 3:
A total of 22 non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) were sealed in Deogarh and Pakur districts of Jharkhand after a chit fund company allegedly disappeared in Pakur, senior Government officials said on Sunday.
“Four of the 21 non-banking financial companies where search operations were conducted in Pakur district on Saturday were sealed while the rest were asked to produce documents if their companies are being run under RBI guidelines,” Sub-divisional Officer of Pakur Mukesh Kumar said.

Comments:
Such sealing should have been done long ago, not after some companies decamped with people's money. Unfortunately the government officials wake up only after the thief has escaped with the loot.
