new daily super-fast intercity express train service will be introduced between Mangalore Central and Madgaon from February 23.

A press statement by the Palakkad division of Southern Railways said here on Saturday that the train No 02636, the inaugural special from Mangalore Central to Madgaon, will be flagged off by Mallikarjun Kharge, Union Railway Minister, from Mangalore Central on February 23.

The inaugural special will leave Mangalore Central at 3.30 pm on that day and reach Madgaon at 10.15 pm.

The regular service will begin from February 24. The train No 22636 Mangalore Central-Madgaon daily super-fast intercity express will leave Mangalore Central at 8.15 am and reach Madgaon at 2 pm.

The train No 22635 Madgaon-Mangalore Central daily super-fast intercity express will leave Madgaon at 4.15 pm and reach Mangalore Central at 10 pm.

The composition of the trains will be one pantry car, one AC chair car, 14 second class sitting, and two second class-cum-luggage van with disabled friendly coaches, it said.

The trains will stop at Canacona, Karwar, Kumta, Bhatkal, Mookambika Road Byndoor, Kundapura, Udupi and Suratkal, the statement said.
