The State Government today issued orders for implementation of the new health scheme for all state government employees and their family members, apart from pensioners and their family members.

The Employees Health scheme provides for cashless treatment to beneficiaries in empanelled network hospitals, replacing the existing reimbursement system.

The scheme, which will be implemented by the Aarogyasri Healthcare Trust, becomes operational from December 5, a Government release said.

The deductions from salaries of employees and pensions of pensioners will commence from January salary and pension payable on February 1, 2014.

Aarogyasri Healthcare Trust has developed a separate portal (www.ehf.gov.in) for the scheme, enabling the employees and pensioners to log in and submit their e-application for enrolling themselves and their dependent family members under the scheme. The trust, after preliminary verification of the online application, will generate temporary health cards, pending issue of permanent cards.

So far, 1.40 lakh temporary cards have been generated for the pensioners and their family members, while 32,563 cards were generated for the Government employees.

The Government has asked all employees and pensioners to enrol for the scheme, as claims for reimbursement will not be entertained with effect from January 1, 2014.
