Punjab govt tightens noose on illegal mining

The Punjab government has initiated stringent measures to contain illegal mining out of quarries in the state.

Mining Officers have been directed to initiate immediate legal action against all offenders, an official spokesman said here today.

A special drive against the illegal miners was launched in the last one month following which 217 FIR’s have been got registered in various districts, he said.
