Knitwear exporting units in Tirupur have appealed to Union Minister of Textiles Smriti Irani to help get full reimbursement of the ROSL (Rebate of State Levies) claims as any delay, they fear, will affect their performance in the coming days.
Tirupur Exporters’ Association president Raja M Shanmugham has in a representation to the minister said that the total pending claims on the readymade garments exports (all-India) stood at ₹2,625 crore till June 20,2017 and for Tirupur alone, the pending amount is ₹550 crore.
“When the government announced the scheme, we were under the impression that the ROSL amount would be credited into our accounts along with dutydraw back within 20 days. But there has been an undue delay in receipt of the rebate,” he said.
