Technopark will host a city-specific forum called TEDx Trivandrum (TED stands for technology, entertainment, design) here on November 10, Saturday.

The forum will be held at Travancore Hall at the Technopark campus, an official spokesman said here.

TED LICENSE

The first talk is being organised by a group of under the exclusive license from TED. It is a non-profit forum devoted to ‘ideas worth spreading’ and started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from the worlds of technology, entertainment and design.

The scope of the events has since become ever broader, the spokesman said. It gives communities, organisations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate local-level dialogue through TED-like experiences.

ANNUAL EVENTS

At TEDx events, a screening or a combination of live presenters and TEDTalks videos, sparks deep conversation and connections.

TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis.

The two annual TED conferences in Long Beach/Palm Springs and Edinburgh, Scotland, bring together thinkers and doers who are challenged to give the ‘talk of their lives’ (in 18 minutes or less).

MAIN SPEAKERS

TEDx Trivandrum will feature T. P. Sreenivasan, executive head of the Kerala State Higher Education Council and former Permanent Representative of India to the UN; SabriyeTenberken, German social worker and co-founder of Braille Without Borders; Sashi Kumar, founder of regional satellite channel Asianet; G. Vijayaraghavan, founder and ex-chief executive officer of Technopark; Beena Paul, award-winning film editor; and Mathew Jose, founder-director of ‘Paperman,’ the socio-environmental NGO.
