Film actor Nagarjuna is out of the Meelo Evaru Koteeswaradu (MEK, the Telugu variant of Kaun Banega Crorepati). The actor, who is also a studio owner and entrepreneur, has opted himself out of the successful quiz show. After three seasons and 160 episodes, the actor has decided to move on to focus on a couple of home productions and the films he is acting.

K Chiranjeevi, actor-politician, is going to replace Nagarjuna. Maa TV, which is airing the MEK, is airing promos for the fourth season, with Chiranjeevi promoting the programme.

“I had three wonderful seasons of MEK. It was a life-changing experience for me,” Nagarjuna said, when approached for his comment on his exit from the popular show.

As I ended season 3, I thought, I should take a break from MEK. Also this year 2016 and going forward

“I will be very busy with my films and also with two films I am producing for my sons (Chaitanya and Akhil). I am very happy Chiranjeevi is going to host Season 4,” he said.

After a string of failures, Nagarjuna came out with three hits -- Manam, Soggade Chinni Nayana and Oopiri. Chiranjeevi, who was numero uno in the Tollywood till he founded the political party Prajarajyam, is making a come back after a hiatus of nearly eight years. He merged his party with the Congress and became an MP and, then, a Minister, in the erstwhile UPA Cabinet.

The yet-to-be-named movie, incidentally, will be his 150th one, generating a huge interest in the industry. This is a remake of the Tamil movie Kathi, starring Vijay.
