Most of you are saddled with trousers you no longer use and often these are disposed off or donated to charity.
Here is an opportunity to be rid of those old trousers to get a new fabric experience, yet with some ‘social consciousness’.
Raymond, the well-known textile and retail brand, has launched a ‘Look Good, Do Good’ programme in association with a social enterprise Goonj. Open from August 6 to 28 across all Raymond Shops, customers can buy a new fabric, and in exchange for old trousers, get the material stitched free-of-cost in the same shop.
People have to pay only for the fabric they chose, while stitching is free. Raymond Shops sell fabric from a starting price of ₹500 per metre.
A single voucher per trouser can be redeemed for free custom-tailoring services on trousers only.
Customers can give away any number of trousers to avail equal number of mobile vouchers at the store. Raymond Shops will accept full length adult trousers of any kind, any brand that is in wearable condition. “Though ready-made garments are more popular, tailoring makes garments perfect for you,” said Mohit Dhanjal, Director (Retail), Raymond Ltd.
Raymond hopes to draw a new set of customers into its fold as also younger generation who may not know about custom-tailoring. “While our fabric is known for quality, our custom-tailoring will also be offered with good quality,” he added.
Raymond’s custom-tailoring is a key part of company’s fabric business growth.
Goonj will distribute the old trousers to the needy.
