Waste management workshop

There is a need for change in attitude towards waste management at the grass-roots level, according to the Deputy Commissioner of Udupi, Priyanka Mary Francis. She was speaking at the Indo-US workshop and training course on ‘principles, practice and regulations of hazardous materials management’ conducted by the departments of Biotechnology, Chemical and Civil Engineering at Manipal Institute of Technology in Manipal. H Vinod Bhat, Vice-Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, highlighted the problem of waste generation at a high pace.
