Coimbatore has become the 14th destination for Sri Lankan Airlines in India, with the national carrier of the island country commencing direct flights between this textile hub and Colombo on Sunday.
Coimbatore is the third South Indian city that the airline has covered in the past week –with Visakhapatnam on July 8 and Hyderabad on July 12.
With these additions, the airlines now operates 126 flights a week in India.
Its Chief Commercial Officer Siva Ramachandran said the service would help the business community here.
