The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has made the highest number of 16 internship offers at IIM-Ahmedabad this year.
Accenture Strategy, Bharti Airtel, and McKinsey & Co., were among the top summer campus recruiters with each firm offering more than 10 internships.
About 110 companies flocked to the IIMA campus during the three-cluster summer placements process at the B-School this year to recruit summer interns from the Class of 2016 of Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management.
Firms were grouped into cohorts based on the profile offered, and groups of cohorts were invited to the campus across different clusters.
Top summer recruiters in consulting domain include Accenture Strategy, Alvarez & Marsal, A. T. Kearney, Bain & Co., BCG, Hay Group, McKinsey & Co., Monitor Deloitte, and PwC Advisory.
Among global investment banks, Goldman Sachs was the largest recruiter with nine internships for roles in financial markets, investment banking and financial strategy.
Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, Morgan Stanley and UBS have also offered roles in financial services domain.
In the FMCG sector, HUL has made nine offers for various roles such as sales and marketing and finance.
Among general management firms, Bharti Airtel has made 11 offers, which is the highest. In the technology sector, Amazon was the largest summer recruiter with nine offers for internships in marketing, operations, product marketing and product management.
A large number of students have taken up summer internships in sales and marketing in various companies such as Asian Paints, HUL, ITC, Mondelez, Nestle, P&G and United Colors of Benetton.
General management and leadership profiles were offered by Aditya Birla Group, Bharti Airtel, CK Birla Group, and Tata Administrative Services.
A number of students has also secured summer roles in technology sector firms such as Amazon, Google, and Microsoft. Pharmaceutical companies that participated in the process include Abbott, Cipla and Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals.
This year, 12 students have opted out of the summer placement process to work on their own ventures, under the guidance and mentorship of Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship at IIMA.
The business school will come out with a detailed summer placement report after an audited, as per the Indian Placement Reporting Standards (IPRS).
