The UGC has a plan to give anything between Rs 25 crore to Rs 300 crore to universities that come up with innovative ideas in teaching and research. No, the money is not intended for infrastructural work or standard issue items such as growing departments or teaching enhancement. The grant specifically aims to support “big and bold ideas”. These could mean new courses, improved or changed curricula, and so on. The only criterion is that the ideas, no matter how creative, have to be workable and replicable.
Think about this and share your ideas with us and let’s see if we can reach them to the universities. Be the change you’d like to see.
