The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K) conducted a day-long workshop called ‘Leadership Clinic’ in Goa for managers from various organisations. It focused on globalising Indian thought.

IIM-K Director Debashis Chatterjee designed and steered the workshop for managers with significant strategic responsibility and global orientation and recognised as high-potential by their organisations. The workshop was attended by around 50 managers and professionals from various corporate houses.

The workshop aimed to equip potential leaders with the leadership lessons that could empower them to be a corporate leader.

Chatterjee uses various innovative teaching methods such as story-based moral building and experimental sessions that are unique and universally applicable. “Leadership is embedded in each one’s DNA. It is the method of going beyond one’s conventional thinking to open the mind for generating breakthrough ideas and identify actionable strategies to significantly improve one’s leadership DNA,” a press release quoted Chatterjee as saying.

He gave the participants a proven set of leadership tools and taught them how to use these techniques. “We have for long imported knowledge from the West. It is time to bring Indian thought to the centre-stage of global management practice,” Chatterjee added.

The workshop was inaugurated by Manohar Parrikar, Chief Minister of Goa, who underlined the relevance of this workshop for his State.
