IIM Rohtak recently celebrated its 4th convocation, conferring Post Graduate Diplomas for Management on 152 students. The ceremony was held at the Tagore auditorium in the current host campus.

Janmejaya Kumar Sinha, Chairman, Asia Pacific Practice of the Boston Consulting Group was present at the occasion as chief guest and congratulated the outgoing students during his address. Sinha shared his five lessons for life with students during the address. He asked them to be secure and hungry at the same time, as his first lesson. Sinha advised everyone to develop that passion and desire, to do something meaningful in life.

The second lesson was to develop a long-term perspective while dealing with the short-term pressures. The third lesson was to be humble and self-confident. Fourth lesson encoraged students to be able to act like doctors and think like patients. The fifth and final lesson was to be politically astute by not being entirely political.

With 61 recruiters and several pre-placement offers, the average annual package of the students saw an 8.3 per cent increase from last year's Rs 12.2 lakh.

The major recruiters for the batch included Amazon, JP Morgan, Tata Motors, Cognizant, Wipro, Infosys, SBI, ICICI Bank, YES Bank, HSBC, L&T, KPMG, ICICI Prudential, Ernst & Young, HDFC, BPCL, Max Life, Pernod Ricard, CRISIL, and TATA Steel.

IIM Rohtak is the 8th IIM to be established under the 11th five year plan.
