A two-member team from IIM-Trichy won the top prize for a quiz on finance conducted by the Loyola Institute of Business Administration as part of its Finance Conclave 2013. Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Bangalore, bagged the first runner-up award, and the second runner-up was Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Hyderabad.At the one-day event academicians and businesspersons spoke about the condition of the Indian economy and the way forward. The conclave also featured debates on currency volatility and its impact, and the turmoil in commodity markets.

S. Krishnan, Principal Secretary, Planning and Development, Government of Tamil Nadu, said in his inaugural address that the country needs more intellectual capacity to realise its dreams of double digit growth.

Other speakers included V.A. George, President and CEO, Thejo Engg Ltd; B. Srinivasan of Southern Railways; P. Anand, FCA, President, Society of Auditors; Shyam Shekar, President, Tamil Nadu Investors Association; and Rajalakshmi Sivam of The Hindu Business Line .
