Gurgaon-based Management Development Institute (MDI) recently organised its annual convocation for students of its management, human resources, international management, doctoral and other courses.
MDI awarded 554 diplomas in all, including three to students from its partner institute, EDHEC Business School, in France through a double-degree arrangement.
Placement reportThe institute also released its placement report for 2014. The average salary for the PGPM batch this year stood at ₹14.74 lakh, increasing 15.15 per cent over the previous year.
The total number of students who took part in MDI’s placement process was 321 this year – 231 from the PGPM course, 61 from the PGP-HRM course and 29 from the PGP-IM programme. Around 38 per cent of the PGPM and PGPIM batches opted for sales and marketing profiles.
Some of the companies offering such jobs included Airtel, American Express, Asian Paints, Castrol, Coca-Cola, and Colgate-Palmolive.
Around 22 per cent of the batch was offered roles in finance with companies such as Axis Bank, Citibank, GE Caps, Goldman Sachs, HDFC and HSBC making offers.
Roles in strategy were offered to 22 per cent of the batch.
Aditya Birla Group, Accenture Management Consulting, Avalon Consulting, The Boston Consulting Group, Cipla, Barclays, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Intellicap, Jabong, RBS and Whirlpool were among the other major recruiters.
The highest salary package for this season was ₹23.36 lakh a year.
The convocation was attended by around 1,600 people, including industry experts, government officials, corporate executives, diplomats and members of the media.
