Suzlon Energy Ltd wins the € 1.35-billion (about Rs 7,314 crore) bid to acquire German wind power company REpower, with a cash outflow of € 250 million.

Ranbaxy Laboratories Inc, the wholly owned US subsidiary of the Indian pharma major, acquires the rights to 13 dermatology products from Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) for a value of $26 million or Rs 105 crore.

Jain Irrigation Systems says it has agreed to buy 50.001 per cent stake in an Israel-based company NaanDan Irrigation Systems for $21.5 million (Rs 87 crore).

May 29: Strides Arcolab Ltd buying Disapa S.p.A’s USFDA-approved fermentation facility near Milan.

DS Constructions Ltd, in a 50:50 per cent partnership with Israel Corporation, wins the rights to acquire a unit of Globeleq International for $568 million.

Tata Steel signs a binding MoU of 10-year timeframe with Vietnam Steel Corporation to form a 65:35 joint venture to set up a 4.5 million tonne per annum greenfield steel complex in Vietnam.

May 30: Reliance Industries Ltd inks the final agreement to transport, supply and market gas with Gail (India) Ltd.

Dr Naresh Trehan joins Apollo Hospitals.

May 31: Mr Vijay Mallya buys a strategic 26 per cent stake in Deccan Aviation that runs the low-cost airline Air Deccan.
