Bharath Mahadevan is the Country Head, India of Scoot, the wholly-owned, low-cost, medium-haul arm of the Singapore Airlines Group.

My favourite airport: Singapore Changi Airport

What I like about it: It’s not designed like an airport, but like an experience. The experience is for all the senses and it’s a showcase of what Singapore has to offer.

Verdant gardens, high-end shopping outlets, gourmet dining presenting a variety of cuisines, activities for kids, including the famous slide and a swimming pool inside the airport, bars with live music, television screens and waterfalls - all make the airport an experience.

It’s designed for people and not passengers. It is one of the few airports in the world where the arrivals and departures are at the same level, so an arriving passenger neither has to get into a cold, unwelcoming hall nor does he have to go to a different level to board a transit flight. This design in fact needs huge investment in security scanners. It’s carpeted, which means it’s very quiet but expensive to maintain. The oldest terminal is almost 40-years-old but looks more modern than any other airport.

What could be improved: Absolutely nothing.

Other airports I like:  Vancouver, Denver and Incheon.
