Don your Oculus VR headset and teleport to one of America's most iconic national parks. Standing under the tall sequoia trees, surrounded by colossal mountains of rock, you stand with President Obama by a waterfall and listen as he introduces you to this piece of wilderness.

The Facebook-owned Oculus and Felix and Paul Studios released the 11-minute, 360-degree film on Thursday titled Through the Ages: President Obama Celebrates America’s National Parks. And Barack Obama is the first president to feature in a virtual reality film such as this one.

President Obama's message is about the conservation of America's parks and the need for children to be able to visit places of such grandeur and want to protect them for generations to come.

Through the Ages can be either downloaded or streamed and places you right in the picture where you get some glimpses of the awesome beauty around. The footage is from a vacation the president took with his family, who you can also see here.

The film is also a preview of the uses virtual reality could be put to in the not-too-distant future, as the technology goes mainstream.
