Bharti's Trend allows copying 250 numbers from SIM

Now there's a fixed-line telephone that can read data from your mobile SIM card. Bharti Teletech, manufacturer of fixed-line telephone instruments, has introduced a phone equipped with a GSM SIM reader. The GSM SIM reader- equipped phone called Trend enables customers to copy the numbers stored in the SIM of their mobile phones directly to their fixed line telephone phonebook. The company has introduced Trend, priced at Rs 1,275, following increased demand from fixed line customers for mobile phone features on their instruments. The product is currently being supplied to Airtel subscribers.

Trend enables customers to copy a total of 250 numbers stored in the SIM of their mobile phones directly to their landline telephone phonebook. Additionally, Trend is equipped with a host of other features such as Auto Add `0' or `95' to facilitate call back of long distance numbers, gold plated keypad contacts for a longer life and an anti-line tapping facility that prevents misuse of the telephone by parallel phone users.
Bharti Teletech, which owns the Beetel brand, has 50 per cent market share in the fixed line telephone instruments market in India.
