A SCHEME to bring women scientists who have suffered a break in their career back into the mainstream science activity is expected to be implemented by the middle of next year, the Minister of State for Science and Technology, Mr Kapil Sibal, said here today.

"In the `Women Scientists Scheme' we strive to provide opportunities to women scientists who had to suffer breaks in their career to come back as bench-level scientists," Mr Sibal said addressing the Microsoft Government Leaders Forum-Asia.

A task force had been set up for the purpose, which would come out with a report in two-three months, he said.

The scheme is expected to be implemented by the middle of next year. Under the scheme, the women scientists would be provided flexible working hours, he said.
