RBD plamolein and refined soya oil regained some ground on the local edible oil market on Thursday on some buying interest amid reduced offerings. Castor oil ruled steady in the absence of renewed buying.

Castor seed June futures ended higher on scattered support.

RBD palmolein was up Rs 2 at Rs 379 per 10 kg. Groundnut oil raw was steady at Rs 475 per 10 kg.

Imported refined soya oil was up Rs 2 at Rs 382 per 10 kg. Crude soya oil was up Re 1 at Rs 365 per 10 kg.

Castor oil commercial grade was steady at Rs 327 per 10 kg. In futures segment, castor seed June contracts were Rs 5 higher to end at Rs 1,577 per quintal.

Sugar weak

Sugar spot prices reacted at the higher level at the Vashi wholesale market on Thursday on continued offerings by stockists amid increased inflows from mills.

Small grade (S-30) was down Rs 20 at Rs 1,936/1,981 per quintal over previous day. Medium grade (M-30) was down Rs 10 at Rs 1,980/2,031 per quintal over previous close.
