Cashew nuts kept for sale in a shop in Kochi. India is the largest producer, processor, exporter and consumer of cashew in the world.

Its share in global cashew production is 24.88 per cent. Currently, cashew is cultivated on seven lakh hectares, while production is around four lakh tonnes. Nearly 1.25 lakh tonnes of cashew nut are exported fetching foreign exchange worth Rs 2,000 crore.
