ALL major metal producers have raised the prices for copper products by Rs 4,000 a tonne. They have, on the other hand, cut by Rs 3,600-3,800 prices of zinc products.

Copper cathode (full) category price has been raised to Rs 1,77,900 a tonne from August 1. Similarly, the Bombay Metals Exchange has raised its benchmark price of copper wire bar by Rs 3,242 to Rs 1,97,971.

Hindustan Zinc Ltd (HZL) has reduced prices to Rs 68,000 a tonne (Rs 71,600 as on July 1) for special high grade zinc and Rs 67,600 (Rs 71,400) for high grade zinc.

For lead, the current price is Rs 54,100 (Rs 46,700).
