National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development has sanctioned four projects to Tamil Nadu with a total financial outlay of Rs 816 crore and Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) assistance of Rs 666 crore under the RIDF XVI.

The projects sanctioned include strengthening of 508 rural roads in 30 districts, upgrading 44 district roads and 39 major district roads in 18 districts, and construction of 121 bridges in 31 districts of the State.

It also includes support for creation of additional classrooms, lab facilities, toilet blocks, furniture for students in 259 schools covering 13 districts of the State, according to a press release issued by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development.
