DCM Shriram Consolidated Ltd (DSCL) on Friday reported a net profit of Rs 4.87 crore for the first quarter of this fiscal on the back of higher sales as against a net loss of Rs 7.77 crore in the same quarter last fiscal. The company’s sales during the quarter went up 28.6 per cent to Rs 793 crore compared to Rs 616.49 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, according to a company release. Sales from manufactured products rose 12.5 per cent to Rs 600 crore against that of in the year-ago period whereas those from traded products, which include super phosphates, seeds and pesticides, surged by 133 per cent to Rs 193 crore, the release said. —
