TVS Motor Co will start exporting Apache, its 150-cc bike in another three months.

"We have already got enquiries from all over the world and should start exporting the bike in another three-four months," Mr Prasad Narasimhan, Vice-President, Marketing, TVS Motor Co, told newspersons here on Tuesday.

With this launch, Mr Prasad said, TVS is now aiming at strengthening its position in the premium segment of the motorcycle market. The company expects to sell around two lakh Apaches a year; about 20,000 units a month; thus cornering around 30 per cent of the market share. The premium segment in the motorcycle market grew about 10 per cent last year, clocking average sales of around 50,000 bikes per month. "This year, we hope to increase it with the launch of Apache," said Mr Narasimhan.

The five-speed, 13.5 BHP bike is priced at Rs 52,490 and is designed to appeal to 18-25 year-olds with its `sporty and athletic looks' according to Mr Narasimhan.
