Ajanta Pharma has clocked a 36 per cent growth in its net profit for the fourth quarter (Q4) or three months ended March 31, 2006. The company clocked a Q4 net profit of Rs 5.46 crore, as compared to Rs 4.02 crore in the corresponding period last year. The company registered net sales of Rs 74.91 crore, up eight per cent from Rs 69.42 crore in the corresponding period last year.

The company's board of directors also recommended a dividend of Rs 1.50 per share for the year ended March 31, 2006, the company told the Bombay Stock Exchange.
